How to Add Multiple Websites Under One Google Analytics Code
Google Analytics is a free tool available from Google to help you analyze the traffic that comes to your website. It is effortless to install on your website, and if you look at the results regularly, it will help you plan the maintenance of your website.
It’s best to sign up for your own Google Analytics account, even if you have someone else working on your website. This is because it needs to be under your control, and you may have someone else working on your website at some point.
1) Go to Google and click the Business Solutions link.
2) Click the Analytics link in several ways at the bottom of the page
3) Click Register for Analytics
4) If you do not have a Google Account, sign up for an account. If you have a Google Account, sign in.
If you need to sign up for a Google Account, the system will ask you to:
Your current email address
Password – and enter it again to ensure you did the right thing the first time.
– Some checkbox options
– Enter the text that is almost impossible to read. You may need to enter this a half-dozen times before doing it correctly. Not your sight. It isn’t easy to read. It’s painful, but it’s just trying to keep hackers and spammers out of their system.
– Click to accept fine print.
– If the PIN code is entered successfully, you must go to the home page. And you should see my account in the links in the upper right corner of the page.
Please check your email address and click the link to confirm that it is a valid email address. You have to do it all at once! You will be transferred to the same account to view your statistics.
5) Sign in to Google Analytics
– If you are already logged in, you must click on the “My Account” link.
– If you are not logged in, you will see Login instead of My Account Sign out in the upper right corner of Google Pages. The login will take you to the page shown below.
If you do not click on the email link, it will take you to a page asking you to verify your email address. You will be in an endless loop until you check your email address.
Click the Analytics link.
6) You are now ready to get the Google Analytics code for your site.
– Click Registration (This is the registration for the code.)
Enter your information in the form. The account name field will choose the URL unless you change it to something else.
– Enter your contact information.
Agree to the terms and conditions.
– And you have your own Google Analytics code!
7) Add the Google Analytics tracking code to the HTML code at the bottom of each page on your website at the top of the page. If you are not working on your site, copy the code and email it to your web developer.
8) Google will take 24 hours to start displaying your statistics after uploading the files containing the code.
